A gastroenterologist position will involve a physician who’s job description is to diagnose digestive system diseases and prescribe and administer appropriate treatment. The gastroenterologist might need to carry out procedure to make a diagnosis and sometimes would have to pass one type of scope or the other into the gastrointestinal. They work with nurses and medical technologist’s day in day out. The Gastroenterologist might work in a hospital setting or work in private practice as a single office or a large multi physician office.
