Cardiology Jobs
In this position the cardiologist will perform diagnostic work such as ECG, X-rays, exercise test, heart cat etc to determine the extent of the heart disease. Based on the outcome the decision is made on whether to manage conservatively or refer to a cardiac surgeon for further treatment. Cardiologists jobs available are divided down into 2 groups, the Interventional cardiologist and the non interventional cardiologist. The cardiologist will treat and diagnose heart disease while the interventional cardiologist physician performs a variety of invasive tests and procedure to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of cardiac disease.
Cardiologists either board certified or board eligible can perform diagnostic cath. They diagnose different heart and blood vessel conditions such as high blood pressure, heart failure, peripheral artery diseases, heart arrhythmia, myocardial infarctions etc. they have many diagnostic tools and procedures at their disposal to handle different cardiac issues. Some examples include using electrocardiograms to make diagnosis, balloon angioplasty, placement of stents, pacemakers etc. When the patient presents with a heart conditions that might require extensive surgery, they refer the patient to a cardiothoracic surgeon for expert management.
Pediatric cardiologists take care of cardiology cases in pediatric age group. Heart conditions in this age group could be varied and diverse and in most cases are congenital conditions. The pediatric cardiologist will work closely with the surgeons to figure out the best approach to handle the situation.
